2-3 John – the truth

The emphasis of 3 John is on “walking in (the) truth” (v3, for instance). It refers to an intimate knowledge of the things revealed to us by God through His Word. It’s an Old Testament concept too – Is 38:3 re Hezekiah. 3 John 11 makes it clear that our good works evidence our knowledge of “the truth”
